The business of Mergers, Acquisitions and Disposals is a complicated and expensive one. Many more transactions fail than succeed and those that do happen may actually reduce shareholder value at best or at worst ‘destroy the host’!

In contrast the best deals result in a transformed ‘new’ business with two plus two resulting in, often, much more than four. Such ‘quantum leap’ deals are not uncommon but they certainly don’t happen by accident.

Over the past fifteen years Graham has been involved with more than 40 transactions either as a principal or broker. He has bought and sold companies across the world, designed joint ventures, led a management buyout (as well as advising on others) and ‘floated’ a business. This gives him unrivalled, almost unique, experience in the staffing/recruitment sector.

The use of professional advisers in the form of accountants and lawyers is obviously important but far too many deals fail because there is too little experience of making them happen within the parties themselves.
